Miles Development Group, LLC team is comprised of Ann R Maxwell Managing Partner, David Julier, Managing Partner, and Ernie Siders, Chief Operating Officer.   Micheal Washington of Micheal Washington Architects (MWA) and Trevor Blake of Kingston Construction complement our team, as separate entities, by providing in-house architectural and construction services.   All of our talented professionals believe in our mission and share our core values of integrity, commitment, focus, creativity and dedication.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            

 

Ann R Maxwell, Managing Partner; has more than twenty-five years of experience working with for-profit and non-profit housing developers around the country.  Ms. Maxwell believes that in order to be successful, housing developments must operate as a partnership between residents, management and owners.  Throughout her career, she has placed and emphasis on community and resident relations, built on a foundation of sound financial planning and oversight.  This approach has been validated by an ongoing successful experience in working with diverse housing populations, and models from multi-family, cooperative, condominium and single family housing.   In 1985, Ann Maxwell incorporated Maxwell and Associates as a Boston based real estate consulting firm.  In addition, Ms. Maxwell has held senior management positions in both the public and private sectors.  Ms. Maxwell served as Executive Director of the Dorchester Area Planning Action Council (APAC) a multi-service agency where she supervised the development of eight units of supportive housing that was later expanded to twelve unit and the rehab of child care space.  She held the position of Director of Community Development for the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation (JPNDC), a community based housing and economic development organization.  Ms. Maxwell served as Senior Training Consultant for the Association of Resident Controlled Housing (ARCH) providing training and technical assistance to more 200 units of cooperative and limited equity condominium association.  She served on the development team representing the resident organization in MassHousing (FHA) Demonstration Disposition Program in the rehabilitation of 220 units of HUD owned housing.  Ms. Maxwell also served on the development team of the Mission Main a HOPE VI Program representing the resident organization in the demolition of 1,100 distressed public housing units into 535 units of mixed income town housing.

David Julier, Managing Partner; is a graduate of the US Naval Academy and veteran with more than twenty-five years of experience in facilities, property and construction management.  He worked as a real estate broker in California for five years, before moving on to construction management for domestic and international construction projects.  He served as contract administrator for the Brown and Root Corporation, upgrading the oil field capability to allow oil extraction using sea water injection at Prudhoe Bay, Alaska.  David Julier worked for the Ralph M. Parsons Corporation an international construction company, hired by the Saudi Arabian government to build a new city at Kilometer 31 near Yanbu, Saudi Arabia and the King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jidda, Saudi Arabia.  David Julier currently a Massachusetts licensed construction contractor has completed multiple condominium conversions.  He is a specialist in the rehab of distressed single family and multifamily property.  He is the owner of a property management company in the Mission Hill area of Boston where he owns and manages numerous units of student housing.  David Julier has managed property for non-profit and for-profit owners in Boston.  He is familiar with the many low-income and housing subsidy programs.  With his extensive experience in construction and property management, he understands the delicate balance between strong financial oversight and tenant satisfaction.  David Julier brings this approach to the Miles Development Group team, with the proper tools, carefully developed budgets and long-term plans provides for a smooth running operation.                                                               

Ann Maxwell and David Julier have work in collaboration on many projects over the past twenty years.  Their initial joint endeavors, was repositioning a financially and physically distressed multi-family cooperative to financial health and the complete exterior rehab of a twenty-four unit distressed limited equity condominium.  Their collaboration was built on their respective records of achievement, proven technical proficiency, and solid reputation for quality work. Both have a strong background and experience in working with property management, finance and rehabilitation of multi-family properties.  The experience of working together, as well as, their common interest and approach to providing the highest quality service led to formation of Miles Development Group, LLC.

Ernie Siders: Chief Financial Officer, is a principal and founder of Siders Equity Partners, a business development company, with a lifeline to help small businesses thrive.  He is also founder of TaxKings, an income tax advisory service.  Siders worked for thirty years in the world of finance and banking.   In recent years he worked an executive with State Street and Trust Company managing Mutual Funds and Pension Funds.  Prior banking experience includes The Bank of Boston and Unity Bank where he held the position of Chief Financial Officer.  He has worked at major New York banks, including Bankers Trust Company where he trained in commercial lending and Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company.  Other companies he held financial positions with are Celanese Corporation of America and the New Your Urban League.  He founded and managed a number of corporations and partnership that provide financial services or consulting: SFS Financial Corp., Chairman, Outreach Financial Advisors, Inc., Bradlees Tax Service, Dealers Choice Acceptance Corporation, a firm that purchase receivables for automobile financing.

He has served on the Board of Directors and the investment committee of Massachusetts Venture Capital Corporation, in Boston.  They have invested in small business from manufacturing companies, beauty solons and construction companies.

Mr. Siders is a graduate of Pace College in New York City in Accounting and Finance.  He holds a MBA from Suffolk University, Graduate School of Administration, and advance studies in Finance from New York University.

Mr. Siders has served as an adjunct professor of banking and economics at Simmons College in Boston.  He also served as adjunct professor of economics and management at Lesley University in Cambridge.

Ann Maxwell and Ernie Siders have worked on numerous projects prior to joining the Miles Development Group team.  Operating as a collaboration between organizational development and accounting, Ann Maxwell worked with Ernie Siders in providing technical assistance to small business in the areas of business planning, organizational and operational procedures.   The addition of Ernie Siders allows Miles Development Group a strong financial foundation for long term success.
